How to remotely enable Remote Desktop (RDP) in Windows XP/Vista/7/2008

Remote Desktop or RDP service is a free useful tool to remotely log on to remote computer and gain full access and privileges as if user is in front of local console. Remote Desktop is also known as Terminal Services. It’s useful if the server, or PC is located miles away in remote location, and frequent trip to the site to troubleshoot, configure or manage the system is not a viable option.

However, if an off-site server needs to be access via Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) client immediately, yet the Remote Desktop is not enabled on the server, then it will be a headache. Luckily it’s possible to remotely enable and turn of the Remote Desktop service on a remote PC or server by remotely editing its registry.

To remotely enable RDP on another computer, follow these steps:

• Login to the workstation with administrator credentials.
• Run Registry Editor (regedit).
• Click on File menu.
• Select the Connect Network Registry in the pull down menu.

 

• A “Select Computer” dialog search box is opened. Type the host name of the remote computer in the text box, or browse Active Directory to locate the remote server, or click on “Advanced” button to search for the remote computer.

• Click OK after the remote computer is selected. A node for the remote computer network registry will be displayed in the Registry Editor with HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (HKLM) and HKEY_USERS (HKU) hives.

 

• Navigate to the following registry key for the remote computer:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server

 

• In the right pane, locate a REG_DWORD value named fDenyTSConnection. Double-click onfDenyTSConnection and change the value data from 1 (Remote Desktop disabled) to 0 (Remote Desktop enabled).

• Reboot the remote machine by issuing the following command in Command Prompt:

shutdown -m \\Musheer-Laptop –r

• Replace ‘Musheer-Laptop’ with the actual computer name of the remote host.

Remote Desktop for the remote computer has been enabled.

Universal easy ROOT method for Android

Most of them are aware about the benefit of ROOT an android phone. Method 1

Download Root Method 1.rar file from HERE and extract RAR file to somewhere in your PC.

Then enable USB debugging options from Menu> Settings> Developer Options then tick USB debugging.

Now need to allow installing unknown sources application by going Menu> Settings> Security> then tick Unknown sources.

After enable USB debugging and unknown sources connect you’re phone to PC by USB cable.

Remember: Before connect phone with PC, you should install appropriate USB driver for your phone model. And ensure, whether your phone is detected properly your PC or not by going to device manager.

Then double click the RunMe.bat from the extracted folder and follow instructions, that's it!

for example if your are using Samsung Galaxy S2, Sony Xperia, LG P705, HTC, Google Nexus 7 etc.… choose number 1. wait for the Process to get completed.

 

Method 2

Download Root Method 2.rar file from HERE and extract RAR file to somewhere in your PC.

And enable USB debugging options and Unknown sources as said above. After enable both connect you’re phone to PC by USB cable.Then Click on SuperOneClick Application from the extracted folder.

 

Make Sure your device is connected properly to the computer from device manager. Click on the "ROOT" button from SuperOneClick window. And wait for the Process to get completed.

Congratulation now you got ROOT and enjoy the root benefits such as custom ROM, clock mode recovery, uninstall unwanted system apps etc.…

Gmail New Feature: Reply/Forward with highlighted text only

Today we are going to present one awesome feature of Gmail which is they rollout in mid of November 2012.

In Gmail (most of the email clients), the default action when you click reply or forward is to include all of the email you’re replying to below your message. Sometimes this results in long reply chains and lots of unwanted information being forwarded along. Suppose  you don’t want to include all of the text, instead only the relevant ,just an important line or  a picture. this case what you will do usually? select all  unwanted information content and delete them. It might very difficult sometime, especial from long chain emails. right? But this fantastic feature of Gmail’s will help you to do this very easily.

Simply just  highlight the text you want to be in the reply or forward email, and then click the reply / forward  button on Gmail. You’ll get a compose window with just the highlighted information which is you are selected !

Note: If this not working for you, please confirm whether “Quote selected text” option is enabled or not in your Gmail Lab by going Settings > Lab > Search for ‘Quote selected text’  > and Enable.

Looking for start menu in windows 8?

Are you a Windows 8 user? Still miss the classic start menu in windows 8? Do you really need it? Or are you just looking for some comforting familiarity?

In windows 8, Microsoft is forced people to use their new tile start screen (similar to Android & Apple home screen) , instead of classic start menu which was very familiar with most of the people around the world. Tile start screen will be easy for tablet-PC, smartphone and touch screen users. Nowadays tablet-PC and smartphones are most wanted gadget in IT market. This is why may be Microsoft changed their old face too.

Now come to the point. In this post we are going to introduce some third party free application which help you to bring classic start menu in windows 8.

Pokki

Where classic shell tries to replicate the Windows of yesteryear, Pokki (free) is very much its own beast. I have to admit that Pokki is probably even better. It utilizes a neat “pinning” system that isn’t unlike the home screen of your smartphone or tablet. You can also add widgets to Pokki, such as Gmail or Facebook, which display your latest email or status updates.

By default, Pokki will configure your Windows 8 system to boot straight to the Desktop — and there is an option that will just completely disable the hot corners (hot corner means: where you get the windows 8 settings, search by hover your mouse in corners) , if you so desire.

Classic Shell

Classic Shell is open-source donation-ware that gives you the option of a classic (Windows 98ish), Windows XP, or Vista/7 Start menu. At its most basic, it puts a Start button back on your taskbar — but as always with third-party utilities, it has a ton of other features and settings that you can tweak to your heart’s content (in Classic Shell’s case, there’s probably too many tweakable settings). I don’t think so there is an option to boot straight to Desktop in Classic Shell.

Power8

The Power8 displays a Start button in the usual spot on the desktop. Clicking on that button brings up the familiar two-pane menu. From the left pane, you can pin your favorite applications and access all your programs via the Programs menu. From the right pane, you can open specific folders, such as Computer, Libraries, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and Network.

Right-clicking on Power8's Start button triggers a pop-up menu with several options. The settings command lets you customize the software's behavior. You can set it to auto start each time you log in to Windows 8. You can also resize the button or change its image.
